Privacy Policy for VoltPDF: PDF Reader & Editor

TAB Apps Dev ("we", "us", or "our") developed the mobile application VoltPDF: PDF Reader & Editor ("VoltPDF" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how VoltPDF handles information when you use the App on your device.

By installing or using VoltPDF, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Important: This policy describes the default setup. While documents are processed locally on your device, certain data (such as advertising identifiers and subscription status) is shared with third-party service providers to support the App's free and premium features.

1. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We designed VoltPDF so that most document processing happens directly on your device.

• We do not create user accounts inside the App (except for managing anonymous subscription IDs).
• We do not require you to provide your name, email address, or other contact details to use the core features.
• We do not upload your PDF files, images, or scanned documents to our own servers.

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on how you use VoltPDF and which services you enable, we may collect the following types of information.

2.1 Storage and File Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

To provide the core functionality of VoltPDF (document management, reading, and editing), the App requires access to the device's storage. We scan your device to locate PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files so you can view, organize, rename, and edit them within the App.

• Local Processing: All file processing and scanning happens locally on your device to ensure your privacy.
• No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload your files to our servers without your explicit action (e.g., sharing a file via email).

2.2 Camera and Photos

When you use features like Scan PDF or Image to PDF, the App needs access to your device camera and/or photo library:

• Camera access is used only to capture images for scanning.
• Photo library access is used only to select images to convert to PDF.

Images and scanned documents are processed locally on your device and are not sent to our servers.

2.3 Usage Data and Analytics

To improve stability, performance, and user experience, we may use third-party analytics services provided by Google LLC (Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config) that can collect:

• App interactions and feature usage (e.g., which screens are opened, basic event statistics)
• Device information (device model, OS version, language, country, app version)
• Technical logs and crash reports

This data does not contain the content of your documents or personal text from inside your files.

2.4 Document Scanning Services (Google ML Kit)

For document scanning features, VoltPDF uses Google Play services ML Kit (Document Scanner). This service may receive technical information necessary to provide and improve the scanning functionality, but it does not receive the content of your PDF documents as stored in the App.

2.5 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

To support the free version of the App, we display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use:

• The Advertising ID (AAID) of your device
• Coarse location data
• Usage data and diagnostic information

This data is used to provide personalized or non-personalized ads and to measure the performance of advertising campaigns. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads in your Android device settings.

2.6 Subscriptions and Purchase History

If you choose to purchase a premium subscription (VoltPDF Pro), financial transactions are handled by Google Play.

• We do not collect or store your credit card numbers or bank account details.
• We receive a confirmation of your purchase (receipt) and subscription status.

We use Apphud, a third-party subscription analytics platform, to manage and validate subscriptions. Apphud may collect Device ID, Subscription status, and Country to help us ensure you have access to the premium features you paid for.

2.7 Notifications and File Monitoring

We use local notifications to inform you about App updates and features. Additionally, we may send notifications regarding newly detected files (via real-time monitoring) and provide tips, reminders, and recommendations for organizing your storage or reading documents. These notifications are designed to help you manage your digital library efficiently. You can opt-out of these communications at any time in your device settings.

3. How We Use the Information

We may use collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the App and its features
• To monitor performance and fix bugs or crashes
• To analyze general usage trends and improve user experience
• To display advertisements (via Google AdMob)
• To process payments and manage your subscription status (via Google Play and Apphud)
• To organize and display your documents (via Local Storage access)
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use

We do not sell your personal information or document content.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Most document processing happens directly on your device.
• Data related to analytics, advertising, and subscriptions is processed by our third-party partners (Google, Apphud) according to their own security standards and privacy policies.
• We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information processed through the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Permissions Used by the App

VoltPDF may request the following permissions on your device:

• Manage External Storage – to scan, list, and manage PDF and office documents across the device.
• Camera – to capture photos and scan documents into PDF.
• Notifications – to send updates, file alerts, and organization tips.
• Network access – to serve ads, process subscriptions, and use analytics.
• Advertising ID – to support advertising services (AdMob).
• Billing service – to process in-app purchases and subscriptions.

6. Children’s Privacy

VoltPDF is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

• Disable analytics in settings (if available)
• Reset your Advertising ID in your device settings to limit ad tracking
• Cancel or manage subscriptions via your Google Play Account settings
• Opt-out of push notifications in your device settings
• Uninstall the App to stop all processing of data on your device

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
